Level Layouts
In order to get the highest scores possible in Slide It, it is important to learn when the levels change layouts.
Every three levels introduces a different configuration of slots.
Levels 1-3 have slots only on the outside.
Levels 4-6 have an additional red slot in the middle of the board.
Levels 7-9 add two more slots to the board.
Level 10 and above have four slots in the middle of the board.
Learning to anticipate the additional slots will allow you to "lock" a multiplier on that slot, making every match on that slot worth double or triple the points. To do this, plans your moves so that a tile with a multiplier of 2x or 4x is over a space that becomes a slot when your goal reaches zero on Level 3, 6, or 9.
Playing the Suits
Each time the configuration changes, the number of tile types resets to two (Red/Hearts, Green/Clubs) and grows to four over the next two levels. Once you reach Level 10, however, all four tile types are always in play.
Also, notice that there are more levels with Red/Hearts and Green/Clubs tiles than any other tile type. Focusing on these tiles will let you get higher multipliers faster because you have more opportunities to make matches with them. If you don't have a move, sacrifice a Blue/Diamonds or Yellow/Spades tile to line up a combo with Red/Heart or Green/Club tiles.
